Deals That Can Help You Stay Fit

A few of my friends are also doing this diet, and I know quite a few other people who are all on a diet of one form or another right now. There are some great deals out there that can help all of us to trim down and stay fit and healthy. Do you like string cheese? Maybe your kids think that string cheese is an excellent snack. See if you can get your kids to try the Frigo Cheese Heads … Continue reading

Is It Difficult For You To Join a Health Club?

I am split, almost 50/50 on health clubs. I like their services, but I don’t always like their culture and I would love it if I could have one of those memberships that only cost you when you use the club and you don’t have to pay for it on the months that you don’t. Getting in shape and being in shape are extremely important in our modern culture. We need exercise, we need health clubs and we need motivation to get fit. But health clubs aren’t for everyone and there is a growing collection of fitness clubs that are … Continue reading

Choosing the Diet That’s Right for You Part 1 of a Series Today, as promised, we’re going to delve into choosing the diet that’s right for us. Fitness Should Be a Lifestyle Change

We’re just a few days into the New Year.  Are you still feeling the same resolve to make this a healthier year? It’s no secret that gym clubs are swarming in the month of January.  More fruits and vegetables are purchased in January.  Changes are being made across the board. Yet it’s not uncommon for this to start dropping off in February and March.  By April it’s pretty obvious who are going to be the ones most likely to stick it out. While the good intentions are there, it won’t be what keeps you going.  There has to be more … Continue reading

Baby’s First Check Up 4

Your baby’s first check up is an involved examination that allows your baby’s doctor to asses the overall health of your infant, as well as check for anything that is serious or might develop into something serious. In this series, I have been taking a look at everything that is involved in your baby’s first check up. Hips You may see your baby’s doctor take a hold of your baby’s hips and move them back and forth and around the hip joints. I always thought this looked rough and reminded me of getting a chicken ready to roast. But this … Continue reading

Back to School Left Over Piles of Paperwork

The back-to-school rush should be just about wrapped-up by now, Thank Goodness! All of the proper forms have been completed, signed and hopefully returned to the school. If you are anything like I am, there was one pile of papers which had to be returned and another pile of optional things to consider, like joining the PTA or purchasing Student Accident & Health Insurance. It’s just the right thing to go ahead and pay the dues to join the PTA (Parent Teacher Association) sometimes called the PTO for the Parent Teacher Organization. Paying the dues builds the organization and offers … Continue reading

Initiating New Friendships

While married, couples typically have other married friends, which is what you would expect. However, after going through a divorce or death of a spouse, you often find yourself with few or no friends at all. Remember, the old married friends still care about you but they live a different lifestyle that makes socializing difficult. Over time, these friendships often fade, leaving you to start making new friends. For single parents, having no one close to confide in or to laugh with can be devastating, leaving a person to feel alone and isolated. Therefore, if you now find yourself a … Continue reading

Smash those irrational beliefs (2)

Today we continue on from Smashing those irrational beliefs (1) and look at more limiting ways in which the things we think about ourselves and the world around us work to our disadvantage. In the last blog, we looked at a host of irrational beliefs and the truths that lie behind them. Today we’ll look at more: Irrational belief: My life should be a happy one without any major problems or worries. I am angry, disappointed and/or depressed when things go wrong. Truth: Unfortunate events can happen at any time, to any one. No-one is immune from life’s traumas, including … Continue reading
